Brain Training For Dogs Review – Brain Training For Dogs Real Testimonial

Over the past 30 years, I’ve probably experimented with a dozen various dog training techniques. Some were passable, others were outdated, but much worse, some spots were downright dirty and harmful to dogs. When I requested for assistance in training my first rescue dog, “Bonzo,” a friend sent me a copy of his book Brain Training for Dogs. Since then, I’ve talked about our experiences with this method in this piece.

Before we go any further, let me just remark that I believe the beliefs and methods used in this training program to be reliable and trustworthy. I’ll go over the training’s goals with you and how they will help you and your dog moving ahead.

Review of Dog Brain Training

When Bonzo first came to me, she struggled greatly with confidence and getting along with other dogs. We learned that Adrienne Faricelli used a successful, force-free training approach based on positive reinforcement techniques for her brain training for dogs.

In some dominance training techniques I’ve seen, dogs only behave a certain way to avoid punishment, but they are nonetheless marketed as being advantageous. I avoid them like the plague, and you should do the same.

If you train your dog out of fear, they will only become fearful of

  • A weakened sense of identity
  • A complete lack of trust in others
  • Moreover, a refusal to learn

How does training your dog’s brain work?

Your dog will learn to solve difficulties and take an active role in all phases of training with the aid of this curriculum. Instead of using fear, employ positive reinforcement to hasten your dog’s learning.

The remainder of my evaluation of Brain Training for Dogs will look at the program’s design as well as how and why it worked for my dog. Let me first explain why I think this is one of the best dog training techniques out there.

What benefits come with joining the program?

The program still has a one-time fee of $47 as of the time I am writing this post. There are two ebooks within.

  • Training the Canine Brain
  • Training for Dog Behavior

You now have access to 21 demonstration films and a members-only special area that will help you successfully complete the exercises. The application itself is really straightforward because to the detailed step-by-step instructions and instructional video that accompany it.

The films just serve as a reference for you, whilst the publications go into further detail about the training program itself. After the most recent upgrade, I must say that the written instructions and videos are easier to understand. The first time, I didn’t have too much trouble, but I can understand how some folks could be perplexed.

What is Adrienne Faricelli’s approach to training?

Adriana and her team use a simple, scientific approach to training. When training dogs, she follows the principle of “killing dogs with kindness.” Her approach to training will show you how effective positive reinforcement is and how rewarding your dog for excellent behavior can ultimately benefit you both.

Why Is Positive Reinforcement Successful?

If you stick with a positive reinforcement-based training method like Brain Training for Dogs, you’ll have much more success and it will always work.

Because it offers your dog every chance to succeed, positive reinforcement training is tremendously effective for a variety of reasons, but in my experience, it merely increases the bond between you and your dog. Being trusted by your dog makes failing very impossible.

Given that I can use it with dogs of all ages, including puppies and older dogs, this training program is also one of my favorites. Although this tactic was highly effective, you should be warned that it did require some work and would be both a physical and mental battle.

Games and puzzles that your dog must solve make up the bulk of the training program. It is not a race, even though the course is progressive and your dog will go through a learning curve as a result; rather, it enhances your dog’s mental agility and abilities.

Additionally, it informs pet owners that rewards for excellent conduct should only include treats for their animals. Because I can guarantee that not all 21 exercises will run perfectly, the application contains comprehensive troubleshooting instructions for each one.

First educating the dog owner, then you

The most remarkable thing about this approach, in my opinion, is that I found I had learned just as much about canine behavior as my dog had. Adriana makes this program easy to follow by giving clear instructions on all the abilities you need because she is aware that in order to successfully train a dog, you must first train the dog’s owner.

Training won’t always be a straight line since, as we’ve already established, neither you nor your dog are robots. Although it is unavoidable that there may be hiccups in the training process, this is where the program’s troubleshooting feature will be useful. These were developed to help you and your dog learn how to carry out the numerous jobs you would require in the future.

You learn how to operate a clicker when you first start out, and trust me when I say that you should value this ability. When training your dog how to “lure,” for instance, if you want to prevent your dog from snapping your fingers off as they are trying to grab a reward, you should never hold food between your fingers for your dog.

How Are You Going to Finish Your Training?

Adrianne and her coworkers go above and beyond to provide the program’s participants with all the tools they need. You honestly believe that your own personal dog trainer is right there with you. In my opinion, this causes dogs to just pay attention when it’s convenient because they cover issues that other classes either go over or ignore. Without giving away the entire game, here are some insider secrets that you will learn.

  • See how to wean your pet off treats using a fading food lure.
  • You must make the use of hand signals simpler if you want to reduce some of the mysticism around dog training.
  • When and how to use obvious linguistic cues to prevent misunderstanding.
  • When to use verbal cues instead of hand signs.
  • Use a fading continuous incentive system to train your dog to behave consistently without constantly needing rewards.

One of the first things you learn about dogs is that, despite the fact that they may enjoy receiving some kibble as a reward, receiving cooked chicken is a completely other experience. You will discover during the training process that there are advantages to using both bigger and smaller rewards.

The Following Are Topics a Lesson Will Cover

Every course starts with an introduction where you learn the goals and supplies required.

The procedure for teaching your dog with this curriculum is described in full in the next section. You will surely encounter issues even with some training methods’ simplicity, but Adriana and her coworkers made sure to include troubleshooting tips in each stage.

Increasing the intensity of the problems your pet must face in order to reinforce the behavior they have learned is one of the training program’s most important components. Testing what your dog has learnt and their development through the training program is the next step.

The Benefits of Obedience Training

A lecture on obedience serves as the first step in the canine obedience training program. This section teaches your pet the most essential commands they need to know, so don’t skip it. One of the best pieces of advise I can provide you is this.

  • Come
  • Heeling
  • Stay
  • The use of a lure
  • Sit
  • Lean back.
  • Accept it or reject it
  • Push it

Only if your dog is unable to comply with these fundamental commands will it fail further exams.

How Was the Organization of the Training?

I have to admit that as a teacher, I was drawn to the training program’s classroom-like layout. How you and your dog grow from elementary school to Einstein. As students advance through the program, the activities and puzzles get progressively harder.

  • The early years are extremely easy.
  • Simple is Elementary
  • Middle school is high school
  • College is difficult
  • University is quite difficult
  • An specialist with a degree
  • Einstein had a great mind.

According to how quickly they complete each hurdle, you will have to grade them as their instructor and give them ratings ranging from A to F to A. Every exam your dog takes has its own requirements for judging whether it should advance to the next grade or level, as well as a grading system.

Why Is Force-Free Dog Training So Effective?

In this segment of the review, I’ll discuss the first lesson your dog will learn in preschool so you can learn how force-free training can be effective and what your dog is capable of.

Lesson One discusses targeting.

First lesson: pay attention

Teaching your dog to nose-touch a target object on command is the goal.

You’ll need these things:

A target that is a Post-it note on a pointer or other object.

Two candy bars and a clicker

The goal of the lesson

The goals of this lesson are to teach your dog to look at you when you want him to and to increase his self-esteem, both of which are very advantageous.

The Method

Your dog would soon get the hang of touching your hand with its nose.

The first time it does this, you will conceal your hand, click once, and then provide them with a prize.

This click must be audible as soon as their nose touches the palm of their hand.

Numerous times, perform this workout without a cue (voice command)

Once they have mastered it, start labeling the behavior or adding a queue, such a word target.

The next time, raise your hand, click, give the command, praise the person, and repeat.

Once your dog has mastered this level of the method, you may start giving them new objectives so the scale will become transferable.

We first had some teething problems with this very basic skill, but the program’s debugging section was incredible and provided us with solutions for all the problems we were having.

The Importance of the Exam Sections

The amount of times your dog can touch your hand or the target stick while the clock is running will be tested. If you’re teaching it to use its paw or nose, have a look at the time after the third contact. They consider 17 seconds to be a passing score.

Additionally, it’s a good idea to view these training videos more than once so you may pick up new tips and tricks. For instance, Adrienna shows how to use your clicker and treats properly in this video. This is essential since it is more difficult than you might think to train your dog using simply food, a clicker, and an object.

More challenging brain training games

Without a sure, the training exercises become more challenging as you advance through the stages, but they are also interesting and a lot of fun. The simple goal of each segment is to instruct your dog in a new ability and promote better behavior. Every element of the trading program has a distinct overall objective that will have an impact on the lifespan of your dog.

Here are some more challenging exercises as an example.

Your dog will learn to recognize the specific names of different toys through name discrimination. They claim that your dog may remember up to 200 words from his vocabulary, but I’m not sure where that is yet.

We have a lot of fun playing the “tidy up” game, where I tell Banjo to collect her toys and put them in a certain toy area.

Without a doubt, the leg weaving exercise made ‘Bonzo’ and I more comfortable because she was afraid of my legs and feet.

Examples taken from the book on canine behavior modification

This free extra second book will be very beneficial in resolving some very common behavioral difficulties that dog owners and their pets deal with. the same

  • Barking
  • Digging
  • Chewing
  • Jumping
  • Whining

Two of the most serious issues I had with Bonzo when she initially arrived were resolved here. These problems were excessive whining and barking.

Adrienna continues, “Whimpering is a hereditary and innate inclination for dogs, particularly when puppies are trying to connect with their parents.

I forgot that my dog cannot inform its mother when it is hungry or cold because it is born blind, deaf, and unable to control its own body temperature. The mother no longer pays attention to the pet’s cries after it is old enough and weaned. By failing to disregard this behavior, I let Bonzo and myself down and all I did was reinforce it.

Any dog or puppy that is relocated to a new home can find the experience a little distressing, in which case they may howl for attention. A puppy’s whining has obviously been positively rewarded if it results in warmth and food when their mother responds by giving them both.

Understanding why your dog is whining is necessary before you can educate them to stop. These are the most typical reasons why dogs whine.

  • To garner interest
  • Because they are content.
  • They might be worried.

It’s important to ascertain whether they are complaining due to a specific need. All they want is attention, and they are aware of the contrasts between acting like a puppy and an adult.

I quickly realized the whining is coming from an adult dog. Because we unknowingly encouraged this tendency, the owner is probably to fault.

I had to learn this lesson the hard way because I only recently began training dogs. Dogs cannot distinguish between positive and negative attention, unlike humans. They are not aware of your criticisms or praise.

How to Quiet Your Dog’s Whining

Simple rewards are given for the behaviors you want your dog to repeat in this method. In other words, you must learn to ignore your dog at all costs if you want to cease their attention-seeking behaviors.

Positive reinforcement, however, enters the picture as soon as they stop succeeding; give them a treat, a toy, or even play with them.

Some dogs will whine when they’re nervous. For instance, my young girl sobs every time I take the vacuum out of the closet because she despises it. I’m gradually teaching her that she has nothing to be afraid of by ignoring her and giving her with a treat once I finish vacuuming.

Every time I finish vacuuming and she keeps complaining, I have to get better at ignoring her. I try not to talk to her. I won’t even turn to face her. However, as soon as the winding is through, I’ll give her a treat that I had previously prepared. She eventually realized that she had to put up with the noise after I finished cleaning, so she just leaves and tries to tune it out now days.

Every time she moans when I enter the room, I simply turn my back and go out. When your pet whines, even a quick glance will provide them the attention they require. I am aware that the signs are a drawn-out procedure. And you positively reinforce the conduct.

If you stay focused and act consistently, this annoying propensity will soon vanish, and you’ll be rewarded with a dog who no longer appreciates drinking wine.
